Have you had a Carboxy Mesoglow Facial?

What is it?

It is a rejuvenating facial which includes the face, neck and décolleté using a combination of cutting edge treatments including:

·         An alpha Hydroxy Acid peel to the face, neck and décolleté

·         A signature anti-ageing Mesoglow Facial which includes a cocktail of growth factors, peptides, vitamins and hyaluronic acid used to the face, neck and décolleté

·         Carboxytherapy rejuvenation of the eyes, face, neck and décolleté.

Exactly How Does A Carboxy Mesoglow Facial Work?

As we grow older – our subcutaneous capillaries become dormant and the presence of oxygen cells in the skin lessens. This combined with environmental stresses and other variables, inhibits the ability of cells to regenerate and function properly and the skin slowly loses its elasticity and collagen.

Therefore, by as early as 30 years of age, oxygen levels in our skin have already dropped by 25% as compared to when we are teenagers. By the age 40, this figure has reached a staggering 40%. When the skin doesn't receive adequate levels of oxygen - it becomes prone to aging, acne, redness, irritation and age spots.

The Carboxy Mesoglow Facial is designed to re-surface, re-oxygenate, re-hydrate and tighten the skin. Visible skin rejuvenation is evident after a series of four to six treatments. This includes a clearer brow area, sleeker jaw line, smoother neck and décolleté.

The effectiveness of this facial lies in the combination of treatments used to deliver a rather astounding result. These treatments include three key elements:

A superficial alpha hydroxy chemical peel:

A quick procedure that renews the skin by lifting dead cells off the surface of the skin whilst stimulating metabolism of the cells underneath.  A series of alpha hydroxy chemical peels – will  significantly reduce the appearance of superficial lines and uneven pigmentation. The treatment can also lessen the visibility of acne scars and reduce the chances of acne breakouts. It also corrects enlarged pores, making them less noticeable. The overall effect is skin that looks and feels softer and smoother, is radiant and re-hydrated.  Most importantly, all of this can be achieved with no recovery time required.

Carboxytherapy

Carbon Dioxide Therapy or Carboxytherapy is the biggest beauty breakthrough since Botox. Carboxytherapy is a safe, minimally invasive and clinically proven treatment to rejuvenate and recondition the skin.

Carboxytherapy introduces CO2 beneath the skin's surface. The body interprets this as an oxygen deficit and responds by increasing blood flow and growth factors such as VEGF (Vascular endothelial growth factor). This stimulates the production of new blood vessels This provides a surge of oxygen and nutrients to the treated area and improves circulation resulting in cell restoration.  Increased oxygen concentration also improves the water retention or oedema in the area. As a skin treatment – it will reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and stretch marks. Increased blood flow stimulates collagen, which will soften fine wrinkles and decreases dark circles under the eye. As CO2 is non-embolic and is a natural by-product of the body - it is very safe to use. At Body Renewal, a professional team led by a qualified medical doctor administers the treatments.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy was pioneered by French physician Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952. It is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used to treat various injuries and medical conditions. Tiny "medicinal bullets" are delivered directly into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin) by micro injections. The mesotherapy is introduced into the skin either by small micro injections or by transdermal mesotherapy in patients who have a fear of needles.  However, the needles used in Mesotherapy are very short and thin - so that the doctor can target a small area very accurately.

For anti ageing benefits, Mesotherapy with Growth Factors stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen, which is the major support structure for the skin. If the skin is taught and firm through the use of collagen, then the sagging that takes place over time can be contained. This is because tighter skin supports the soft tissues of the face and body. For pigmentation, patented pigmentation inhibiting peptides are used to improve hormonal pigmentation whilst a powerful anti oxidant called Thioredoxin cleans up all the free radicals in order to protect existing collagen.

For those with a fear of needles, Transdermal Mesotherapy is the newest and most innovative technology to administer a drug solution to a patient and uses FDA approved DEEP ® technology.

A series of treatments is necessary to achieve good results. Usually, the doctor will administer one treatment every 10 days in the first month, followed by one treatment every 6-12 weeks as a maintenance programme.

What specific problems can be treated with the Carboxy Mesoglow Facial?

The effects of a Carboxy Mesoglow Facial can be felt and seen across the entire face. Specifically, troublesome problems such as those listed below can be addressed.

On the Face, neck and décolleté:

·         A modest brow lift can be achieved due to skin rejuvenation and tightening on the brow

·         Collagen stimulation results in fewer wrinkles on the skin

·         Lip wrinkling improves due to collagen stimulation

·         A modest jowl lift can be achieved due to skin rejuvenation and tightening of the brow area.

·         ‘Crepey necks’ are a very difficult area to treat but improvements can be seen even in this area - due to collagen stimulation

·         Double chins are reduced due to fat reduction and skin tightening

·         Fat or Flabby cheeks are modestly  reduced due to fat reduction and skin tightening

·         Wrinkled ear lobes improves due to collagen stimulation

·         Wrinkled Décolleté rejuvenation due to  collagen stimulation

·         Pigmentation is improved due to the effects of the alpha hydroxyl acid peel and pigment reducing peptides present in the mesotherapy solution

·         The skin looks visibly more radiant as a result of collagen stimulation

·         Skin resurfacing is achieved due to the combined effects of the glycolic peel, carboxytherapy and mesotherapy.

Typical problem areas treated around the Eye:

·         Dark Circles are improved by increasing the oxygenation of this poorly perfuse area

·         Eye Bags are reduced by skin tightening and modest fat reduction

·         ‘Crows Feet’ Wrinkles are reduced due to collagen stimulation

·         Hooded eyes are modestly lifted due to new collagen remodeling and contraction down the line.

·         Skin texture improves due to collagen stimulation

·         Sleep Lines are improved  due to new collagen stimulation

Questions asked
Am I too Young To Have A Carboxy Mesoglow Facial?

The current approach is to start treatments early so as to avoid or delay surgical solutions for as long as possible. However, it is certain that no matter how much we look after our skin, it will age. To maintain a good skin requires the skin to be firm and taught – this can be achieved with collagen.  Tighter, firmer skin supports the face and prevents the other soft tissues in our face and the muscles from sagging.  Typically, a patient in their thirties or above will need some help – in all likelihood a little tightening and firming around the eye, eyebrow and jowl area. Usually - the younger the patient the better the result that can be achieved.

How Will I Feel After The Treatment?

The treatment is effectively painless. During the Carboxy treatment, the sensation can be likened to a dull throb or pressure .This mild discomfort lasts 2 to 4 minutes. CO2 is 20 times more soluble than oxygen and it is easily and quickly diffused from the injection site to the surrounding tissue. After a treatment, the gas is totally reabsorbed within 5 minutes and the treated area will raise, turn slightly red as oxygen perfuses into the area, which undergoes an inflammatory response that stimulates collagen production.

After the procedure, there is no pain. You might feel like there is a slight ‘crackling’ sensation under the skin. This lasts until the gas is excreted. The area should not be rubbed or immersed in water for about 4 hours. The only side effect is that bruising can occur - if one pierces a blood vessel when injecting the gas. However, this happens in very few patients (approximately only two percent of patients). Patients can return to work immediately after treatment – making it a real ‘lunchtime’ procedure.

How many treatments are necessary?

Typically, 4-6 sessions are required. Clients have a 60 minute session every 2-4 weeks and each treatment is accumulative.
